Three countries on one table in a Harare garden — Jamaica, Nigeria and Zimbabwe. Jerk chicken, jollof rice, cow head, goat head, mazondo and maguru. Seven hours, from the first bottle at 1pm to the lights going purple after dark.
Four days down to Gaborone. The road was the surprise — WiFi on the bus the whole way — then Mokolodi at golden hour for giraffe and rhino, and a city that turned out to be worth a proper walk around.
