The fine print
The short, honest rules that keep every trip and event fair for everyone.
These terms apply to bookings for trips and events organised by Outjoyment, Harare, Zimbabwe. By paying a deposit or buying a ticket, you accept them.
A deposit secures your spot. The balance is due by the date communicated for each trip. Where payment plans are advertised, the agreed schedule must be kept for the booking to remain valid.
Border hops travel overnight. Departure is scheduled for midnight, which means boarding takes place on the evening before the first road day, from 9pm. Departure may be brought forward — to as early as 9pm — where border hours, road conditions or group logistics require it. It is not brought later without notice to the group.
Your exact boarding time is confirmed in the trip group chat a few days before travel. It is your responsibility to be at the stated boarding point on time; the bus does not wait, and a missed departure is treated as a cancellation by you.
You have the right to cancel an advance booking at any time under section 20 of the Consumer Protection Act [Chapter 14:44]. Cancellations by you must be in writing. Where a cancellation charge applies, we set it by reference to the factors the Act allows us to take into account: the nature of the trip, how much notice you gave us, and whether we can reasonably resell your seat before departure.
In practice we work through it in this order:
No cancellation charge applies at all if you cannot honour the booking because of the death or hospitalisation of the traveller, or of an immediate family member. That is section 20(4) of the Act, and we apply it without argument or paperwork beyond what is needed to confirm it.
If Outjoyment cancels a trip or event, you receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
We strongly recommend travel insurance. It covers the situations that fall outside both this policy and the Act.
Itineraries may change due to weather, road conditions or supplier availability. We will provide comparable alternatives wherever possible and tell you as early as we can.
For cross-border trips, you are responsible for a valid passport, any visas, and meeting health and entry requirements of the destination country.
We may refuse or remove, without refund, any guest whose behaviour endangers the safety or enjoyment of others.
Trips include services provided by third parties (lodges, transporters, activity operators). We select them with care but are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control. Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all trips.
Tickets sold through third-party platforms (e.g. TicketNest) are also subject to that platform's terms. Entry rules for each event are stated on the event flyer or ticket.
We, or photographers and videographers appointed by us, may capture photos and video during our trips and events, which may include images of participants. By taking part, you consent to appearing in this content and to its use across our website, social media channels, brochures and other marketing materials, with no fee payable to you for such use. If you would prefer not to appear, let our team know before or during the trip and we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate this.
